Ruger/Marlin Levers... More To Come!

I'm not gonna confuse over-priced with inflation. Have we looked at the price of a M77 Hawkeye lately?

I will likely end up with one or more new Ruger/Marlins, and in spite of the MSRP, I doubt they'll sell for that once the market is satisfied.

$1250 to $1900 MSRP on M77s.
For a lefty like me the lever actions a pretty good value compared to the M77.

I personally think they are.

Price is not high compared to everything else you're buying these days. I find it amusing that no matter what caliber Ruger brings a new gun out in, a whole bunch say they want it in another caliber. To me, the 30-30 is the classic lever action deer rifle cartridge and I applaud Ruger for starting with that one.

Love the fact that they are making them again. Gotta be a better job than Remington.

That's not really high compared to used prices. Last month I looked at what could sell a win 94 30-30 made in 1978 for. Oh, about the price of that new Marlin at full retail.

For sure . I really love the " classics "

Looks just like the Remlin 336c I bought about a year before they sold it.

If the dummies would have brought out a 357 and a 336 Texan they would be years behind in filling orders. Ruger does not have planners that are aware of what most gun owners want IMHO. And you can probably forget about a model 39 in 22.

↑ I think Ruger knows its target audience and will do just fine without a 336 Texan, whatever that is.

I like the Henry. 22s but prefer the marlin in center fire.

I'd like to see them to bring back their 1885CB model. 26"barrel in 45-70. Yrs ago I had their 45-70 but it had a 18"barrel and only held 4 rounds in the tube.

45-70 in that configuration would be sweet

I can't wait to see what the .44 and .357 look like. As to the cost question- a Henry is currently going for close to $1000 if you're lucky enough to find one. That's a big increase from pre-Covid prices, however.

I won't own an 1894 in any caliber nor would I ever want a Texan stock. So do you really know better than Ruger? The 1892 is superior to the 1894 and the original Texan is popular for its market value which does not apply to a new Ruger-made Marlin. As for the 39A ... I couldn't care less. I have a Peanut that's better than anything they can produce now. If they make a true 39A with a BLUED, real metal receiver (unlike Henry's POS) and walnut stocks it will cost $1500. There's a reason I won't own a Marlin made after 2000 (yes, 2000 not 2010). The Ruger Marlins look to be built well but they're no more a Marlin than a Remlin was.
