I have a P97 that shoots well, is reliable and is not going anywhere. It sits in a small safe in my workroom/furnace room in my basement for that "just in case" scenario that I am down in that little room and hear a breakin occurring elsewhere in the house. I have no worries that the P97 will fail to work if I need it to do so, and accurately.

I have a P97 as well. There was a write up in Shooting times, (If I remember correctly), where the writer did an extended test with either a thousand or a 5 thousand round run with the gun. I still have the magazine and article somewhere. There were no failures and no discernible wear on the gun. While I have just a couple hundred rounds through mine it has also been totally reliable and shoots well. Actually' a pretty sleek gun for a big ole P series 45 Auto. I found mine used in my LGS with little if any use and wouldn't pass up another if one turns up decently priced.

Say what you want about the P345. It's still one of my favorite pistols and I have many. Like the feel of ot and the accuracy I'm getting from my 200 gr LSWC bullets and is still my first choice for a nightstand pistol! Of course I did ''clean the rear sight'' to be on the safe side of ''click, no bang''.

I enjoy my P345 and carry it from time to time, it rides well and shots straight. I had two but sold the first one to a co-worker, it didn't have the rail and I wish I still had it too. The p345 is probably the softest shoting of the Ruger lot for me.
