Terry brought his extensive collection of SP 101's, covering the first 20 years of production. There were 34 SP101's total. The display includes three subscription guns:
Serial number 570-00013 owned by Jim Carmichel
Serial number 570-00067 owned by Jon T. Sundra
Serial number 570-00155 owned by "Grits" Gresham
There were also two factory high gloss models, one "D" gun and two Talo limited editions with gold trim.

Displayed was the only Ruger factory made cutaway. The gun was made in 1957, shipped to a distributor and returned. Ruger then lend the gun out to the Fairfield Police department. The revolver was still in Ruger's inventory when Walter Howe used it in 1984 to make a cutaway showing all the internal workings of the Blackhawk, including the transfer bar system.

Mike showed 6 guns from the 2013 Don Black auction. All guns are new with matching boxes and shipping sleeves. Serial number 54 Single Six, Lightweight, 357 Blackhawk, 44 Magnum Blackhawk and the two 30 Carbine Blackhawks serial number 53 and 54. The display also included 4 very rare split top shippers.

Steve displayed Ruger's first single action revolvers, all with the serial number 30. Every gun wears the very rare factory ivory grips. A truly beautiful one of a kind collection.

Some better photos of my display.
Ruger is closing in on producing one million SP101s over the last nearly 35 years (1989 -2023).
As with many of Ruger's products, there have been special models and short runs.
I've identified about 65 different model numbers (5701-5765) just within the first 20 years of production.
My hunt continues.

I'm currently searching for a couple affordable 101s in 22LR.
One for me and one for my son.
Full lug preferred.
But I can't remember if the full lug was an option on the 22s.
But it seems as if I've seen one thru the years.
