Over two years ago I started the post on your favorite full-size semiautomatic. I was actually surprised at how many indicated the 1911. However two things indicate things have changed.
One is a high number of people complain about how heavy they are. And, secondly there is a whole new bunch of new guns in the industry that revolves around the idea that people want lighter guns with a higher capacity than the standard revolver.
Also, every indication is that very few people actually carry on their person full time. Many more keep a gun in their vehicle, obviously unavailable to them in an emergency.

Personally if I'm not in bed my gun is on my person, even in my house. I carry full time OWB in a 3:00 position. The gun I carry is a Taurus G3c which comes with 3 mags that are 12+1. The mag grip is long enough that the little finger just fits. It has 2nd strike capability, and allows for dry firing. Mine has been extremely reliable.

The question is what about you? How much of the time do you carry and what do you carry?

There is more crime going on in our country than anytime in history. Many more violent criminals, drug related criminals are actively involved in what's going on. All of which creates an important distraction from every thing else that's going on.

I carry either a Sig Legion 229 SAO RX or a Kimber K6s. Just depends on my attire for the day.

Most commonly my Ruger LC9s. Very compact. Totally reliable to date. 8 round total capacity which I think would be enough in most cases. Sometimes I carry a Glock 26 in an OWB holster with 11 rounds available. I almost never carry a second magazine. And rarely do I carry while in my home. This does lead to rarely rushing out of the house for some errand and then realizing I forgot to take a gun, or more commonly, at the last second grabbing my S&W 642 snubbie in the Desantis pockeet holster and just slipping it into my right front pockeet as I leave the house.

I've said it before, but I really think that the odds of me needing to be armed are pretty slim, but admittedly not zero. Carrying a heavier, larger gun is just not worth the effort to me. Years ago I carried my Ruger sr40c but switched to the LC9s when I bought that gun.

I carry daily. If I'm wearing pants I'm carrying a gun.

Primarily pocket carry an LCP Max or LCR

Shoulder holster season the SR9 gets carried often. 52 rounds on tap ain't shabby.

Most frequently carried full sized semiautomatic remains the 1911. But I find myself carrying either a 4 5/8" .45 Colt Blackhawk or a 3" .357 mag S&W quite often. I shoot these very well and have no need to try and convince myself of their effectiveness.

Have carried just about daily since 1970.
Started carrying a 1911 Commander in .38 Super in 1980 and if away from the house one is with me 95% of the time.
It is carried IWB, REMORA clipless holster, 830 butt forward...very comfortable and little print...
I also on occasion carry a S&W 4" 57 in the same spot..

Still not there yet but likely first carry might just be my Walther PPK.
Just 6+1 but decocker/safety are some of the reasons and I shoot it fairly well.

I have lighter, striker fired stuff, G3c one of them, not as easily concealed compared to a PPK. My milsurp habit has also made me more comfortable with PPK design too. Nightstand of course is different thing.
