Searching for a nice Ruger Security Six, 6", stainless. Located one in Germany https://www.gunfinder.de/angebote/7438019 . Please take a look on (very good) pictures, use chevrons on left and right side to see all photos.

Judging from pictures, looks like that this revolver was very little used; minimal drag line on cylinder, and no signs of barrel erosion. I know that pictures are blown up and everything looks larger than normally, but seems to me that there are too many nicks, and considerable scores in barrel rifling and cylinder chambers.

Am I worrying about something that I shouldn't, or this revolver is one of those "Monday morning" or "Friday afternoon" specimens?

I think this member is already "overseas" so, he's maybe very lucky to find one that close.

I can't see the ad or the pics. Think it's asking me to agree to cookies or something but not in a language I speak.

I think the OP is in Europe. I'd not be top concerned about the rifling, but the cylinder was clearly cleaned very thoroughly and I wonder if the marks in the chamber throats are a result of that.
I think you are correct about scores, machining marks, in barrel and chamber throats. I am certainly not an expert, but some firelapping should smoothen barrel, and since everything is aligned with rifling, I think barrel should be fine.

However, scores in cylinder chambers are worrisome. I am afraid that too much aggressive scrubbing could result in oversize chambers with rough walls.

Will check my Redhawk and S&W 686-3 so I can compare with what is shown on that Security Six.

P.S. You are right about my location.

Looks like I was completely wrong about barrel on that revolver. Please take a good look:

At the first moment I thought that scores are following rifling in the barrel. Not so, scores in grooves are following rifling, but not on lands, THESE ARE STRIGHT. I contacted my friend who knows quite bit more than I about firearms, and he agrees with me that most likely somebody used bit coarse sandpaper in attempt to remove fouling. First time very tight fit and sand paper followed rifling, second time just loose so only lands are sanded because sand paper was pulled straight. Do we have it right?

I will pass it, too bad.

Another explanation, probably more plausible. Barrel was first broached on land dia, and after that rifling was broached. But both operations were done with considerably worn tools. Either way, barrel looks awkward. If I already have that revolver, I will try firelapping. Since it is still with seller, I will pass it and look for a better one.
