I
I had Buck's in the 1970's and liked them. A Buck 118 Personal hunter ( that My daughter has now) and a few Buck Stockman's. I much preferred the OLD Buck folders with the flat grind ( I believe made for them by Camillus) . After Buck changed to their newer kind of a half hollow or saber grind I just didn't care for them very much. They just don't have the looks of the older ones.

Agree. I had the old model Buck Wrangler (large stockman) years ago, a pattern I like and own in several other brands of knives. A year or two ago I ordered the new Buck large stockman as pictured and while it's a good enough pocket knife, I much preferred the old design.

The BOTM for this month didn't really appeal to me and was rather expensive to my mind. They only made 500 of them and they sold out in 5 or 6 hours. Boggles my mind!!
I have sworn off BOM. They aren't as rare as they used to be. This red 112 (last one I bought) they made 150 of in 2020. In 2018 they made 50 of the Kalinga folders. Some of the monthly ones recently have had production numbers of 750.

Just like with guns, I'm not as much of a collector as an accumulator. They have a nice selection of both folders and fixed blade knives. Their steel isn't necessarily the best, although very good, their heat treating is excellent. Their marketing is amazing. They offer a very nice BOTM (Buck of the month) and they offer the option of customizing to your taste and custom knives. Lots of choices. They sold a fair number of the fixed blade 119's during Viet Nam, and it's still on of their most popular knives. They made 750 of the BOTM knife for January and sold out early. The amazing thing is, they don't offer them the first day of the month.

Most of my customs are the popular folder 110. Several choices of steel, plus clip or drop point, choice of stocks, brass or nickel bolsters, even shesths.
red several custom 110's for customers for Christmas. They were delivered in a timely fashion.

There are many customs you are talking multiple years for delivery
One year I orde.
I bought my first Buck knife in 1969. It is a 110 folder and I still have it. I have purchased many more over the years. Rock On!

I've carried a Buck 110 every day for almost 40 years. I've worn out dozens of sheaths. I wore out my first one, then wore out its replacement, bought a third and sent the first 2 back to Buck for new blades and lick work.

I collect their sheath knives. I have full sets of black phenolic, cherrywood, stag, and 3 in smoothbone. If they make anymore models with smoothbone handles I'll be a buyer for sure.

My favorite Buck sheath knife to use is the 212 a great size for an edc sheath knife.

6 GUNSONLY posted a pic of several knives and sheaths. In one of the pics there is a black sheath that has BUCK on it. I picked one up at Scheels for my 110. Great knife!
