.17HMR hand guns

When I think of .17 HMR and .22 short semi auto, the first thoughts that come to mind are " Jam,jam,jam". Did / do they still, or did someone come up with a better design. They sure as hell used to.

I have a couple of revolvers in 17 HMR, one is NIB. The other one,, it'd been shot a little before I got it. (The rare Hunter .17 Convertible.)
NOT a semi, but as for using .17 HMR in a handgun, you won't get the same velocities as a rifle,,, but it's just like shooting a .22 magnum in a revolver. Both calibers lose velocity due to the shorter barrels.

By this I assume that you mean that they leave the barrel at speed, but with lesser spin, they run into air resistance more quickly, and I agree. However, maybe the .17 HMRs, being a hyper velocity round and also presenting a much smaller face to wind resistance, might do a bit better for a greater distance? Not sure, just spitballing.
