I was browsing the internet yesterday and came across this new caliber 30 Super Carry. Apparently it was developed in early 2022 and Smith and Wesson and Nighthawk Customs make pistols for it.

Does anyone have any experience with it?

I guess it's just a bit smaller than a 9mm so you can fit more bullets in the magazine. But that is all I've found out about it.

I guess it would reload similar to a 9mm? As in the same powders. But I wonder if bullets are available? Or reloading dies?

I've got one!
S&W Shield EZ.
It's VERY accurate with 100gr Federal HST. Velocities are spot-on with advertised velocities.
A few observations:
Brass is not based on any other available brass. However, brass is easily made from loaded ammo! Ammo is widely available now, through many venders, and prices are only a little more than 9mm.
It's no louder than high performance 9mm.
It's easily reloaded using either.32acp dies, or .32S&W dies.
The bore dia. is .313", so proper jacketed bullets are .312", though.311" will work OK. CAST bullet dia. is .314" though I've tried as small a .309" and got acceptable accuracy for close range plinking.
It requires SMALL RIFLE PRIMERS. I started loadi before data was available using spp. In most cases I got cratering and firing pin smear before desired velocities were obtained.
LongShot is the preferred powder, ACC#7, and CFE-Pistol also, as are Silhouette, and Major Pistol. I haven't seen Blue Dot or Power pistol data (Alliant).
You can chamber and extract.32acp, but it won't cycle the action, not enough energy..

Probably won't find it at LGS.
THe Academy Sports in my area Cary it. Both 100gr Federal HST, and Champion 100gr FMJ. HST run about $23/20 for HST, $24/50 for Champion or Speer Blazer brass.
I'm occasionally finding pieces of fired brass at a range I frequent.
I bought some online for a little less than Academy price.
MidwayUSA has ammo, too.

Just my opinion, but it amazes me that with major ammo/brass manufacturers saying they are producing ammo and brass at maximum capacity, and there is still a severe shortage of many calibers...tried finding 45-70 brass lately?......that they are able to come out with a completely new caliber that is unique in its brass, and have it available readily.

A solution in search of a problem, like the .327 Federal Magnum.
Never had any interest in either. I don't know anyone personally that owns either......& I know quite a few gun folk.
I'd much rather any company making ammo for them abandon manufacturing both calibers & release those primers to us.
I know, I know.......wishful thinking.

I did go to the gun store today. A big box store. They had one variety of 30 super carry. It was $9.99 for a box of 20.

Really? I've always thought 327 was a popular caliber.

However, the store didn't have any .327 either. But in the past I've had good luck finding plenty of 327 ammo. Which, respectfully, does fill a gap in the ammunition line up. Just below 357.

Maybe the .327 is popular in some regions. I'm in Prescott, AZ which is big time 'gun country' & I've never even seen one in the flesh in these parts. None of the many gun guys I know have even mentioned the caliber. I looked into all of the specs, etc. when it came out but I never saw the point in it's existence as there are already several calibers of the same performance level or close enough that the .327 wasn't really needed.

$9.99 per bx 20? Sounds like the Big Box is eliminating a slow mover, if a commodity sits on a shelf 120 days or so it is promoted at a "more reasonable price" to clear the inventory. The bargain mentioned above for .327 I am sure clear the shelf space. Rest assured there won't be any more .327 made in the next few years. There hasn't been any 30-30 ammo listed in my distributors inventory in the last two years but there is a quantity of 300 Blackout, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 Win, 5.56/.223, 9mm, 45, 380, a little 40. Since Ruger and S&W introduced several firearms in 5.7x20mm, this ammo is becoming available from other manufacturers other than FN. If you own and hunt with a 35 Remington I hope you have a large inventory of ammo hoarded up, it may never be made again.

Well, around this Forum,, you will find MANY of us who have & enjoy the .327 Mag. (Including myself.)

When it came out,, I was, at first,, "Ho-Hum." Then I tried one. Oops! For a small game handgun, it's very good.

But I agree on the .30 Super Carry.
