With Ruger being the major 327 gun manufacturer, and Marlin being known as the lever action company, can their merger produce a 327 lever action gun?

I bought one of the Heny .327 rifles. Right before they started adding the side loading gate to all models. So mine doesn't have that. I also have a Marlin .32 H&R without a side loading gate.

I agree that they are unlikely to make one until they have other models flowing out and meeting demand.

I have never owned a lever action. I'd seriously consider one made by Ruger if it's in a caliber I already have, like 41 Mag, 357, or 44.
I own a Marlin 1894, Rossi 1892 Stainless Steel, Rossi 92 Blued, all in .357 mag, which of course will also use .38 special, They are fun to use, accurate, light weight, easy to carry and can put some serious firepower down range if needed. I think Jeff Cooper called them "The Bronx Assault rifle!" because everything else was banned in NYC.

I love lever actions, especially Marlins. I really hope Ruger does the Marlin name proud.

Lever actions pair so well with single action revolvers. The Ruger / Marlin is a match made in heaven.

So what do you guys like better in a lever action: Marlin or Winchester. I've always preferred Winchester, especially now that the Miroku plant does such a nice job. Of course, Marlins side-eject is a winner for those who mount a scope.

I like old school Winchesters. Enjoy shooting my 1886 in 45-70, 94 in 30-30 Ackley Improved, Navy Arms 92 clone in .357. At 65 I have installed peep sights on all 3. No way can I clearly see a barrel mounted rear sight. If I ever find a Marlin in 357, I will likely buy it and put a low power small size scope on it or use my Trijicon MRO. I have passed on the Henry with a side gate flat blue metal/ black plastic stock in .357 (ugly).

It would be nice but I think it's going to be awhile if ever. I recently sold my Marlin 336 30-30 and it needed an external part # that I couldn't find on any schematic. I called Ruger and they didn't have a clue. Had to go to a couple of Marlin groups before I got the answer. Looks like right now just making 45-70.

I was at the range monday and a young fellow had an old Marlin .32 special. He let me handle and shoot it. A wonderful rifle. I let him shoot my M1A.

We both were grinning like Cheshire Cats!

As much as I like lever actions I'm picky.

I prefer no safety, but its not a deal breaker if priced right.

If its centerfire it has to have a side loading gate.

The trigger cannot go with the lever when you cycle it.

Most importantly it cannot be a short throw. I just about broke my fingers when I tried a short throw lever action! Lol.

Welcome from AZ
Really like my (JM) Marlins (L to R), .357, .41mag, .44mag, .44mag and 45-70. Have several Winchesters including my grandfathers 1949 model 94 and my 1975 model 94, both 30-30. I do like the side eject of the Marlins, had one Winchester in 45 Colt that was an angle eject. Also have an original Winchester model 73 made in 1881 and a Miroku Winchester Models 66 and 73.
Pistol calibers go great with my Ruger's and Colts.

I've got Henry's in .22, .357, and .45. Also a JM Marlin in .44 and a Rem/Marlin in 45/70. I can't find a fault with any of them- even the 45-70 is well fit and smooth. The Henry's win for overall smooth cycling however.

I'm excited to see what Ruger/Marlin comes out with in the .357 and .44 calibers. I just hope they don't price them like the 45-70. Being retired on a fixed income doesn't leave a lot extra for toys…

That said, I've been looking at the Rossi lever guns lately. I might have to give one of them a try.

A Ruger .327 with a matching Blackhawk would be a nice combo!

I've been keeping an eye out for a Henry lever action in .327 to go with my Single-Seven as I've read they made them for a short while. I wouldn't mind one in .45LC either, to go with my Blackhawk and Vaqueros. I was looking at one in .45LC at a gun show in mid-December but ended up making a very good deal on a couple of Ruger double actions instead. That broke the bank on my "gun fund" for a couple months. Who knows, maybe by the time my fund is back up they'll be making the Marlins in something other than a stainless 45-70. I still have the old Winchester '94 in 30-30 that I took my first deer with sitting in the back of the safe. It's a pre-64 which makes it older than me!

I've owned a Marlin 39M Octagon for nearly a half century but missed my opportunity to get a companion Model 1894CB when they came out in 32 H&R. If Ruger is kind enough to release the same rifle (or about the same) in the improved 327 FM, you can bet I'll jump in line... it would also be a companion for my 327 Blackhawk. Win ~ win!
