Picked this up yesterday at my local gunshop for 325.00 out the door. Put one of the bx target triggers in and replaced the rear sight blade with a peep sight blade. Shot 50 rounds and it ran flawless. It was good to see they are finally using the synthetic stock that will accept a sling. So now I have 3 takedowns, 3 standard rifles and 2 chargers. Love them 10/22's.

Looks really sharp with the black stock along with stainless. Good to hear it ran flawless too. Have not kept up with prices lately but know Rugers have gone up. I read the list price for my R/A 22 magnum is now $449 even though street price is lower. Yours not bad for the 10/22. Very handy rifles indeed.

FYI, there is no advantage to a 'peep' sight that far away from your eye. I shot small bore competition on a military team and the closer your eye is to the 'peep' the more precise your aim. My old Mauser 22 competition rifle even has an extension that allows the 'peep' to be closer to the eye when shooting standing.

FYI Mobuk, you say there's no advantage but for me personally there's a big advantage. When I look down the barrel to shoot, my 75 year old eyes is a blur on the rear sight. But looking through that little hole on the peep sight blade I can very precisely center that little brass bead on the front sight and shoot much more accurately.

I heartily agree. So much so that I made an extension (and peep) which uses the scope-mounting holes, and places the peep about 1/2 inch from my eye. No worries about recoil with a 10/22.
