To answer the query though, I would say, Browning Hi-Power Mk. III (9mm), H&K P30L (.40) and Ruger P345 (.45).

Sig P226 40 S&W is a big handgun and a delight.
CZ 75B is big also and heavy but so nice.

I have a Tanfoglio Eaa Witness with a polymer frame. Sweet shooter and with 2 round extensions, 19 +1.
I just bought a Glock 19X so there may be a new sheriff in town soon.

My standard answer has always been a 1911 of some sort, either a full-size all-steel or a lightweight Commander. But last week I handled my first Springfield SA-35, and OMG I don't think I have ever handled a pistol that felt better in my hand.
