I would like to find some old school leather for my short .38. Maybe a shoulder holster. Where is a good place to start looking?

I love my old Blackhawk and would never sell it. I shoot it at the range only. Can't seem to thumb back the hammer like I used to. I use the weak hand thumb and I'm ok.
There are tons of options available. Probably a few local people making them as well. Ask around a tack shop or leather store.

Dang that sounds sweet. I should get some stag grips for my NM .45 colt Blackhawk to go with my Randall # 12

Try Patrick Grashorn. Send him a pic and he'll do a good job of matching the stag/moose/ramshorn. He matched my wife's Vaqueros, a pair of Pythons, etc. for me.

I am sure I will ruffle some feathers , but that's life on the trail.

Carrying a Blackhawk in an open top holster with no retention , might be just fine for walking down the sidewalk , going to a restaurant or hanging out in church.
The problem is , it wouldn't work for anyone that is half way active.

I believe there are much better guns out there for the concealed carry purpose , and much better options for holsters.

Well, at 85 I'm not as active ads I used to be. But when I was activer, I carried something like this:

Or this:

There may be better guns for YOU, but not for ME.
