Are you afraid of selling it too cheap or paying too much to buy one?

Check completed auctions on Gun Broker. If your exact model ain't there, you'll at least have a ballpark.
Been watching completed auctions. Prices seem to vary quite a bit depending on caliber, and there are no recents on .223.

Hence my query.

Start it at a penny no reserve and let the internet do its magic.

Thanks Air-cooled. Is that based on a recent sale you witnessed for a .223, or a swag based on a host of deals or.....?

That is in the general place we had discussed, but it really wasn't based on anything concrete related to the sale of a Lipsey .223.

But just a swag by us....

It's unlikely anybody here is privy to more info than an internet search will bring.
If it were me, I'd call Lipsey's just in case.
Otherwise, take an average of ALL the NIB RSIs sold ~ regardless of caliber ~ and stick a price on it.

If you've done a completed auctions search on Gun Broker you have seen ~ depending on condition ~ these bring $1100 to $2300 or so.

As I said, $1800. Just my opinion.

Thanks all for helping me noodle through this.

In the absence of a direct comp for the .223, I think the best I can do, as hittman stated above, is use an average of all of the closed sales.

So I am going with $2k and if the other fellow is not interested at that price, I will go to plan B which could be keep it, list it, auction it.

thanks,

Tim
