I've been looking for this smallish Case pocket knife for just about a year now. I know I last saw it over the summer of 2021.

But! Luckily, the gun store had primers today. So I bought some. I keep my primers on a shelf in the back of an indoor closet. Nice and dark and climate controlled. Some boxes have been moved around because I was taking stuff out to NC for the East Coast Gathering. Anyway, on top of the box I use for primers, was a Ruger pistol box. The Max 9 pistol. I know the gun isn't inside the box, but I shook it and something rattled inside.

Yep, the knife I've been looking for. I know how it got in the box, but I cannot figure out the Why? Why would I have ever put this knife inside the box and then the box up on the shelf?

Anyway, here's a picture of it with my 8 shot .327 Blackhawk. The knife has the carbon steel blades. I bought it for myself for my birthday probably 10 years ago now. And since then, it's been in the upper left drawer of the computer desk. If I carried it, I might lose it. Ha, Ha, Ha...

Glad ya found it. Case is a nice knife still made here. Keep my old Puma Skinner secured since only one left from my youth. Made in 1966 so sentimental value is great.

Man it hurts me to the bone to lose a knife. My daddy gave me one out of the bubblegum machine when I was about 5, that in it self says how long ago it has been. People would faint if a kid could get a knife as a prize out of the bubblegum machine now. I lost a fixed blade Cold Steel in some thick bushes on the horse one time. I went back several times crawling around on my hands and knees looking in the leaves for that one with no luck. The last one was a Benchmade auto lost at work after a quick exit from the car and short excursion down through the woods. When it was over my knife was gone. All three still both me.

This is why I no longer carry valuable (either monetary or sentimental) knives. Around the farm, the 'most used' knife I carry is a 'flipper' replaceable blade utility knife($12 for 3 @ Menards). If I misplace one, there's 1/2 dozen sitting on a shelf for replacement. If I break one, it's a lifetime replacement. I don't even carry an actual 'pocket knife'. If I need a real cutting blade, there's one on the multi-tool I carry.

I understand that for sure. I have just been one that doesn't collect anything for the sake of having it. If I buy a knife I carry it no matter what the cost. Same with a gun. If I buy it, it's going in the field. I have always carried about 3 knives at a time. A man needs his fruit peeling knife. Then he needs his toenail cutting knife. Preferably they are not the same. Then he needs one more that will do get off me work with no failure. Any given day at work I had 5 to 7 hundred dollars worth of pocket knives with me. If I had to buy them now it would probably be a 1k. And yes I know a 15 dollar knife cuts the same as a 300 dollar knife. I just like to look at the 300 dollar one for a few minutes when no one is watching.

Glad to see you found your knife. Glad to be a SMALL part of how it happened! :D

I've had a pocket knife on me for longer than I can remember. I do not know what my first knife was,, or even where it went. But I too keep a couple handy to go into my pocket daily. Most often,, my work every day, abuse & not worry knife is a simple Harbor Freight folding utility knife. It's ugly, it works daily, and if I lose it,, no sweat. But if I'm not going to work, or whatever,, I switch to one of my Gerbers normally. But then, I also sometimes carry a MicroTec.
But I admit that I have deep fondness for the older, Schrade Walden knives. I have several of those as well. Good steel in those knives.
