after Highstandardguy mentioned in the other post as to the T678s and the comments as to "whichever' ,,well along came this NICE 22 lr made in 1953 , was brought in to the Medina gun show this past weekend, and has the early muzzlebrake, as well the two piece tapered ear bolt made during that era of the Korean conflict, serial number in the #2810x range..........

Two questions about your latest find: is the 2-piece tapered ear bolt flat on the top or bottom? Does the muzzle break require a federal permit?

...the 'flat' is on the top, and the muzzlebrake only 'diverts' the gases upward, forcing the muzzle downward, and in no way "silences" the shot...just a better "second shot recovery"??At one time many of the companies, ie S&W and High Standard, used "muzzle brakes" in the old days, on their target .22 models......;)

That sounds just fine where are you gonna be in Ohio this weekend?? there is a show over near the Penna. border, in Warren??? on Rt 422 Parkman Rd., we will have a few older Rugers there from this same estate......;)
