When I was on the phone with Ruger for parts the other day I put in my request for all things 32 to be made again. She said she gets a good number of calls asking for the same things. I would really like a Stainless Single Six in 327...

Glad to see folks have been keeping the pressure up,...doing my part, I've placed my "CEO" requests in several times. To me a trio of new offerings would be no-brainers -
- the just mentioned Single Six, in both adj and Vaquerito forms
- at least distributor special .32-20/.327 midframe convertible, again both adj and fixed (NV)
- LCR

I waited for Ruger to dump the sight blade in the SP101 and I'm still waiting for a non ported standard model from S&W that looks like a regular M60.

I just like the concept of a small frame with six chambers instead of five. It would be something new to cast for and that would be enough right there if someone makes the right gun for me. That just has yet to happen.

Maximumbob, I thought I'd already responded to your Model 60 comment but looks like I didn't. S&W does have such a thing--of sorts--their regular 632 (stainless, non ported - albeit 2.25" or some such, if looking for longer like the ported is) + I think is theoir Pro line up. It is hammerless. A lot of people don't know about yet even 3-4 years on (to the point of how the .327's been treated even by its own manufacturers, sometimes really gotta dig for this stuff)--was intro'd a year or so after the ported IIRC. Still on books last I checked. Would make a nice carry piece-- close to heft of 101, but being a J of course a bit less.

EDIT - the non-ported 632 HAS been "archived" - http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_766366_-1_775658_757896_757896_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y

The ported Carry Comp looks to still be available.

I see this thread, like a zombie vampire, refuses to die. Could it be that the 327 FM is really a good idea and those who are knowledgeable and enthusiastic will actually buy one (or more?) I'm still enjoying my custom S&W "Model 616" and have now gotten all the pieces parts to put a suitable Leupold scope on my SS Blackhawk 8-shooter. 1500+ rounds of brass, 4 or 5 bullet moulds, a couple of sets of dies, and a bunch of primers and powder and I'm good to go.

For the naysayers, I just say, "nyah, nyah, nyah nyah yah!"

Froggie

PS If they ever come out with a mid-size Flattop in 327 FM or 32 convertible, don't get in my way!

PPS I know this isn't a S&W forum, but while on my soapbox, the "616" got a huge amount of buzz when it was custom built and if enthusiasts could get past the hole, a 3 or 4" Model 632, plain without all the bells and whistles would also be a top seller. But then what do I know?

PPPS Would it be possible to change the title of this to something like "327 Fed Mag Discussions" and make it into a sticky?

I was curious about the .327 so last summer I bought a Taurus short barreled revolver. I've had plenty of fun with that but now have decided to get the Blackhawk 8 round. I picked one up on GB last week and should be getting it soon.

Are they becoming harder to find?

Just curious what kind of accuracy any of you are getting with the American Eagle ammo??
Would appreciate any other info about this revolver.

Thank you

mohavesam, I generally agree with what you said there... I feel like the 32 revolvers in general are guns for experts, at least if you want to get the most out of them. As I have mentioned, I bought a Blackhawk Stainless 8-shooter in 327 Fed Mag and had a K-frame stainless S&W built in the same caliber. One of the great attractions of both is that they can take 5 different rounds, from little 32 S&Ws and 32 Autos, through 32 S&W Longs, to 32 H&R semi-Magnums, all the way up to the fire breathing 327 Federal Magnum rounds. All but the last are appropriate for indoor or outdoor use and if I really want to get somebody's attention, the flash of the 327 in the dark (coming from my 4" S&W) would be something to behold! IMHO, the 327 Fed Mag chambering gives one the most versatile revolver out there... it's just a shame that the powers that be (in all of the manufacturers) are so slow to recognize it. If the concept were pushed as enthusiastically as it could be, more folks would "see the light" and join us as True Believers!

+1 Heck, I'm still waiting for them to awaken themselves to the H&R :) ever since discovering that great round (yes even in mild factory loads) in 1984 with my first Ruger SS .32 - think I'll be waiting awhile longer yet!

Well, here we are! It's 2022, and the .327 and .32H&H are more popular than ever, and picking up speed.
BTW, It took the 6.5Creed 10+ yrs to catch on. The 10mm blossomed, then wilted for 20yrs. Now it's more popular than ever...

They certainly did breed in my gun safe. I see several models "casually" listed as available that I would love to have now.
Glad I got the ones I did, when I did.

I email Lipsey's about every 3 months asking WHEN, no good news yet. I had a 4.62" SS and sold it some years back. I want a 5.5" Bisley now. I might even settle for a SS 5.5" but not for the prices on G/B.

Here's a few 327's a 8 shot Blackhawk with the long cylinder.( factory) a snubbie in 327, and a short 32H&r S&W. The single six doesn't have the cylinder length to use long bullets but my cast ir a 100Gn XTP in a 327 case fits fine. My accuracy load in the single six, is basically a hot 32 H&R load. I like that better in the mini size Single Six frame.

And the SS and Blackhawk were converted to Bisley.

Now that this thread has new life: Fan of the 32 HR & 327. Asked many times for Lipseys to order a 327 fed No. 1. Some see the the 32s as not that popular, I disagree. Ruger/Lipseys seem to have success with them. Hope the 8168 Bisley Lipseys shows will finally get made this year. Seems odd Bisley parts mostly dried up at Midway, Ruger CS would not sell me any parts for a Bisley last week.

It is still a 'niche' market for the .32s compared to other standard cartridges (.45 Colt, .44 Mag, .45 ACP, 9mm, .357, .38 Special, .22LR), but there is actually a (uno, one) reason for me to have a few .32 H&R magnum revolvers around. It's my reloadable .22 cartridge. Only reason I have a few .32 H&R Magnum revolvers was the .22LR crisis a few years back. Otherwise the .357 cartridge does everything the .32 can do and more. I really don't know where the .327 fits though, but as we see above, there are users of that cartridge :) , so it will be around for awhile yet... Like the .41 Magnum will always be with us. Ie. Always be a few that are passionate about a certain cartridge with a hundred reasons why they like it and think everyone should be shooting it! I know, cause I feel the .45 Colt is 'it' as far as big bore goes :) .... As for revolvers, I believe I have four of them that can shoot .32 H&R Magnum... a Single-Seven, Single Six, Baby Vaquero, and a Colt (Uberti) Lightning. So it goes...

Do not own a .32 anything! I decide some years back to stop torturing myself with loading and maintaining a zillion different calibers. After careful review and study, including Ballistics, Now I load for only a few. Rifle: .308, .223, 7.62x39. These three rounds will handle just about anything on the planet and cover shooting from 100 to 1000 yards. They are all accurate and there are hundreds of different loadings. if you cant find a proper load for one of these, you are not trying. Components are easy to com by and powders, primers etc can be interchanged if needed. These rounds will function in everything from AR's, Ak's to Fine Bolt guns like Rem 700 Police or CZ 527's. Can't do better, but you can spend more! Pistols: I do not load for any auto rounds. I only use auto's for defense, and use only factory "defensive" ammo designed for the platform, ie. full size, mid size or small. In my Revolvers i load .38 spec./.357 mag, & 45 colt. I do 80 percent .38, 15 percent .357 and 5 % 45 Colt. Again, the .38/357 will handle anything necessary on the planet and gives me a 25-150 yd ranges easily ,especially when I use a rifle like my marlin 94 or Rossi 92's. I get excellent accuracy, ease of reloading and interchangeability with all my Ruger SA's, S&W 's and rifles. Again, components are easy and interchangeable. The .38 spe will do anything the .327 or other rounds will do, has superb accuracy and can be loaded from extremely mild to Plus P and if necessary a simple step up to the .357 mag give you a proven round that has been the standard for stopping power in defense for decades. The .45 Colt is jsut for fun. What more could you want?
