Snake, we share similar experiences. I have not only been working on this information, but have seen .22 s in action first hand. They stop. All about where one puts them. Also, keep in mind how many fit in a standard mag. If one didn't stop, there are plenty more.
No argument from me, i sure would not want to be shot with one! on another note, i lived in NJ for may years in the North Brunswick area. I have a son there now workin HVAC, who is in the New Brunswick area and a daughter who is a teacher in Bridgewater.

I'm New Jersey born and bred , love it despite some law making idiocy. Your kids are lucky folks!

On the original question about staggering the mag with HP and solid 22lr, I think it would make no difference in a SD scenario, as far as changing the outcome. Especially with the LCP. Best to use the largest bullet for the caliber used and then make sure they are reliable, and you have enough.

agree. with smaller calibers shot placement becomes even more critical.(IMHO) My wife can dump a magazine (10) rds in my 22/45 in 2-3 secs in a group the size of a coffee cup at room distances. That will ruin anyone's day.

I always have a 22 on my tractor, quad, and in every vehicle. The coyotes are ravenous and brazenly bold this year. That is my main concern. The CCI stingers have been very effective on them. I have seen the damage compared to standard 22's, and am impressed with the enhanced capability of them, even at their lighter weight. As said above, shot placement is EVERYTHING. If defending oneself, a 22 to the eye does much more than a howitzer that misses its target.
