Should I shoot 'em or save 'em?

Found this partial box of old Rem .22 shorts stashed in a box of other stuff the other day. Probably at least 30yo (produced 1974-1981). Only 17 rounds left, but all seem to be in pretty good condition.

As noted,, not collectable,, so shooting them is fine. But since you have a limited supply,, I'd choose my targets,, to get the best use out of them.

When I bought my first handgun, a Super Single Six, in '75 I shot the Short HP's because they were a bit cheaper than the LR's.

Looks like CCI still makes them and has them in stock. They're more expensive than their 22 LR HP's.

IMHO, the only reason to save them would be if you have a 'short only' rifle and have problems finding proper ammo. In which case, save them for 'dire need' circumstances.

I also say, choot'em.

...Said by the guy that has tons of NOS ammo that I just can't bring myself to shoot just cuz it's so nice to look at stored away in boxes that haven't been opened or even looked at in many years. :geek:
