Considering he was a bankrupt and penniless ex-President... he HAD to write his memoirs... just to get enough money to stay alive. I assume he sold these long before the end... but I'm thinking he didn't get that kind of money... even in 1870's money!

that is really awesome, but alas, it is sad that Rock Island Auctions does NOT do anything near that or as well with the more common, everyday "collectors" like last year Bill E , "appleman" here on the forum,,,they did not even get "market value" for any of Bills collectible Rugers, guess BIll just was not "famous enough",,,, to us he was.
....they had NO clue what Bill even had......:(

Yea........I'm thinking the Economy is not as bad as the News is portraying.

I'd like to see a Range Review with in the month.

Guns have been a hot commodity for the last couple years because buyers haven't been able to get what they want, and their $ has been burning holes in their pockets.
Make no mistake... there was plenty of $ thrown into the economy.
