Ruger PC Carbine screw size

On my Ruger PC 9mm Carbine, the back screw that holds the receiver assy in the stock is a little hard to screw in compared to the front screw.
I want to use a tap to "chase" the threads in the receiver.
The manual does not tell me the size of these screws??
Anybody know?.

Yes, I have contacted them, and waiting for them to find out. Oddly... Those screws are not detailed in the manual.
Customer service had to send a request to the "line" to find out the size... and they will let me know soon

Arghh...
It is a 12-24 UNC 2A thread. Now to find a tap, most are 2B (2A is medium fit threading (so tighter threads) and 2B is loose)

You are incorrect about the thread tolerances. 2A and 2B refer to external and internal tolerances, respectively. 3A is close fit external, 2A is normal fit external, 1A is loose fit external.

You probably want a GH-3 tap for that thread tolerance.

A tap labeled "2B" should produce a Class 2 fit internal hole, which would appear to be what you want.

Yes... after some research. The 2A is the thread on the screw (external thread), and the hole should be okay with a 2B tap.
