Just bought 500 hornady .356 hornady HAP bullets. Wondering if anyone else is loading these in a 9mm. Not finding any load data on loading these. I know from some research they were designed for the 38 super. Any advice or experience on these.

I've gone through several thousand of these in the 9mm using the standard Hornady 125gr data. Never had an issue. I've used Titegroup, Power Pistol and AA#5 loads.

All I have now is win. 231 and I think that is to fast of a burn. Power pistol is impossible to find. Gunbroker has it for about 250$ for 4 lbs. I found xtp 124 data but not 125 gr data. The powders you suggested are slower burning than 231 and I think that is a good idea. My gun is an h&k vp9 4" barrel

Which one of the powders mentioned did you like best? Metering, clean burn, flashy

I use Titegroup most for 9mm. I hear you about Power Pistol. My Super 38 Colt loves the HAP bullet and that powder. Scarce as a conservative democrat.

Thank you, I have found some AA #5 and #7 on the internet but that is an indication of not being as popular as others I think.

Sent the 125 gr back and bought the 115 gr. All kinds of data on them. Also ordered the latest hornady reloading manual.

I have some win. 231 but think AA7 would be better. I like 231 because it meters very well in my rcbs uniflo powder measure. Powder is non existent in this area now. How does AA#7 meter ?

The HAP bullets are the XTPs without the skives.

AA#7 meters nicely. It was designed for the 9mm.

I have seen some gel tests where the HAP expanded with the 9mm. I would run it as fast as possible if I was hoping for expansion.

Go to Hodgdon's reloading date I am sure there are WW231 loads there. If you want max velocity it is probably not the best but I use it with 124JHPs and 4.5 231 and very accurate from my S&W 639 and my RIA 9MM 1911

I've loaded thousands of 125 HAP bullets in 9mm, 38 Super and 357 Sig. It's the go to bullet for the 357 Sig. AA#7 was developed for loading 9mm NATO ammo by our friends in Jerusalem. The new Hodgdon 2022 reloading magazine(manual) now has data for AA and Ramshot powders as Hodgdon is now the distributor for those brands, as well as IMR and Winchester, and of course, Hodgdon powders.
