My old GP100 6" with an Action Arms base and Thompson Center Electra-Dot 3X20mm pistol scope in Warne rings. I use the scope when I am load testing...I feel it is helpful to know the absolute accuracy potential of a bullet/powder combination. Then, if I miss using the iron sights (after they have been zeroed for that load), I know the loose nut behind the trigger is the cause. I also like having the scope on if I'm bumming around in varmint territory...coyotes, prairie poodles, and rockchucks at long range (100-200 yards) is a fun challenge! ;)

I have a scoped Ruger maximum, and a Ruger hunter with an ultradot. I also have a Glock 40 10mm with a RMR.

They definitely help when proving new loads.

I turn 69 in two days so pretty much a necessity for me. I have UltraDots on my 5" and 9.5" Super Redhawks. I have Bushnell TRS-25's on my Contender in 375 Win and on a few 22's. A Nikon Spur is on my 6" Security Six. I have scopes on Contenders in 221 Fireball and 7mm TCU.

Runner ? How well has the TRS5 held up on the 375 barrel? I have several of them on 22's but I have never put one on a heavy kicker.

JStacy,
Besides the 375, I have used the TRS-25's on a 12-gauge slug gun, a Marlin 45/70, and on 44 revolvers. I also have the TRS-26 on an AR. Of my five, I recently had one on a Contender in 7mm TCU (low recoil) that had an issue. There was a small black flake on the inside of the rear lens. It really didn't hurt, as sometimes it would go out of sight and appear off and on. I sent it in and they replaced it with a TRS-26.

I have a Nikon 2x on my Super Blackhawk Hunter in .45 colt.

Never even shot the irons. Its a deer gun and all my deer guns wear glass, whether handguns, rifles, or muzzleloaders
