Covered, except my #3 is a mini 14 and a mini 30. #5 is a 20g pump. As I get older, I don't see the need for a 12G, over a 20 G. 20 will do 90% of what a 12g will do. Since I don't bust down doors, or go goose hunting, the 20g suits me just fine. 20g ammo also takes up alot less space, which is a big benefit for an ammo collector like me.

  1. 1911 of ur choice
  2. 357 mag revolver
  3. AR15 or AK47
  4. 10/22 or 22lr pistol
  5. 12 gauge pump
Sounds good to me.🇺🇸
Its a very good list, but ever since I tried a Mossberg .22 Magnum rifle, it changed me into a fan of that round. The same goes for an M-4 Carbine versus an AR-15/M-16.

PS: this thread might get moved, since it's in the Ruger 1911 section.😀

After this I'm not sure if I can even purchase the AR15 I have been waiting to find in stock.

I suppose I can still pick up a 357 revolver. I have wanted one since I only have a .44

I have a few Sigs but not a 1911, which I have been considering. At least one could satisfy the new "high capacity" magazine limitation.

I would add a bolt-action hunting rifle.

The M4 is a member in good standing of the AR-15 family. ;)
I made that distinction because there is a world of difference to me. I liked the AR-15/M-16, but I loved the M-4.
My intro to the AR-15 family was a worn out M-16, that had a habit of jamming. And it was made by GM, and that left a permanent memory.

So I tend to be specific about models. I will say this, I never expected the AR-15 to become so popular.

I think it should be a "must own" caliber list.
22LR because there will always be squirrels
9mm because there will always be ammo
45acp because there will always be 2 legged predators
30 cal rifle because there will always be something to reach out for
12ga because there will always be birds
Of course the first add on will be a black rifle. I've got them in 223/556, 9mm, 458SoCom and 308.
I always thought the most useless gun was an AR pistol but when a $200 upper came around I decided to try it. They are fun - but as I thought useless.

I reckon I'm good. I set out a buffet on the dining room table a couple days ago :)

Doesn't go into effect until July. Buy now while you still have the opportunity.

I think my minimum would be a 12 ga. shotgun, as the ammo is easier to get than the other gauges, and it will do everything needed for the shotgun sports and survival if that becomes necessary. Beyond that, a .22 of some type for fun and survival hunting if necessary. A .357 revolver would give you the added carry protection if carrying the shotgun around was not a good idea.

I like the way you think about the .22 Mag. I have a Remington 597M and since I replaced the extractor, it works great!

I call BS on the 9mm because during the shortage of early 2013, 9mm firearms and ammo was the first to go. When all the rest of guns/ammo were all bought up the only thing left on the shelves was .40 cal. I decided then and there to add that caliber to my collection. About a year and a half later, I bought an H&K P30L. As for a 9mm, I already had one, but sold it because I didn't like the trigger. To replace it, I bought a Browning Hi-Power in 9mm which has become my fave. I have stocked up on 9mm, just wish I could turn the .22LR to mag. I guess my G'daughter will use it though, with her 10/22.
