I am retired, on fixed income, half of which goes to my ex wife. So I haven't been buying guns, I already had what I needed. Well, someone posted about the LCP MAX. My First gen LCP rocks. I went to Murfreesboro to take off 14 lbs of aluminum cans, and thought I would run by a couple pawnshops/gun stores just to hold a LCP MAX to see if it might be something to save up for. The second store had one $429, I asked if they would trade. Showed them my LCP. They offered me $150 for it. SOLD!!! I got home with it an an extra 12 round mag. Filled them up and blasted a target at 6 yds. Wow!!! The sights are way better! Basically blew the center of the target out. The trigger is different. There is about a quarter inch of take up, and then breaks nicely. It uses the same holsters! Yay!!! Now I have to pay on the credit card, sigh. Yes, I love the gun, and I like the extra ammo. Ruger made a good gun better. A little side note. Someone else had come by and seen it and handled it, and left. I came I saw and bought! They came back 30 minutes after I bought it OOPS, I got the last one! If ya snooze ya lose.

Interesting so many of us that own larger handguns in the eargesplittin loudenboomer class, also have gravitated to mouse guns.

I own and/or have shot multiple little tiny guns, and they have been great little pieces. My original LCP never leaves my shirt pocket, ever. 8)

Good going, gramps!

I'm a sucker for smallish carry guns. This little bugger with a 12 rd magazine might just come to live with me :)

Wayno, the first rule of a gunfight is to have a gun. The .380 LCP certainly fulfills that requirement for me. The .380 with modern ammo is better than the .38 spcl with 158 gr RN bullet. I still carry my .44 spcl on the farm, with the .44 mag on standby!

I don't see anything negative about having a hi-cap pocket gun particularly in a minor caliber.

Congrats!

Why do you call a .380 a minor caliber? Same size as a 9mm, .38/.357(0.002) difference. Ballistically similar, to the .38 spcl.

I have a leather pocket holster that the LCP gen 1 was loose fitting. The max is tighter, and also pushes in the mag release. I may need to modify that holster to continue using it.

I have found that I tend to carry the Max more like a primary gun than a BUG. Not a problem, merely an observation of what the small difference in size and round capacity does to one's perception of the gun.

I just picked up my Max a couple of hours ago. Cash price was $364.
Does anybody know what that red flag looking device is?
I'm guessing a takedown tool, but can't find it I'm the owners manual....

Hey Gramps, what ammo do you carry in your Max? I just bought one a week ago and breaking it in with Win 95 gr FMJ, that's all the store had in stock at the time. I also find it accurate at 20' with 9 of 10 shots into a 6" circle. Carries very well in my pocket with the holster that came with it but will probably upgrade later.

Hi, I use Tula steel cased 91 gr FMJ to practice with and in my second magazine. My first carry round in the spout is a Federal Hydro Shock 90 gr HP, first in the magazine followed by more Tula 91 gr FMJ. So my first two shots are HP followed by FMJ for penetration! I use a leather pocket holster, and an OWB magazine carrier.

Here is a darn good price for an LCP Max - $329.99 ($50 less than I paid)

Wow, you guys are getting them for some good prices. Last night I was lazy, and instead of going into my safe and swapping out the LCP Max forbmy .44 spcl, I put the Max on my bedside table. In the middle of the night I noticed a strange green light on the table. It was the front sight of the MAX! WooHoo!

I've ordered the Max and expect it to arrive next week, $385 OTD with a 12 round magazine added in. That's $356 plus tax including the extra mag. It should make an almost invisible carry option.

I replaced my M&P Bodyguard 380 with the Max; double the capacity with virtually the same footprint, what's not to love.
You also don't have to worry about slide bite.
The only thing that really concerns me is the magazine baseplates look somewhat "fragile" to me, but no issues so far.
Great choice IMHO!

Congrats. Where did you get that deal?
