From the Pew Brothers:
.380 HST 99 gr at 1030 FPS= 223 ft lbs
.30 Super HST 100 gr at 1250 FPS= 347 ft lbs
9x19 HST 124 gr at 1150 FPS= 364 ft lbs
To me the new round with its length will have to have a larger weapon than the .380. The 9x19 has a wider range of applications(bullet weight). So to me the .30 will be relegated to a niche market.

"So, they're going to cut into manufacture of existing rounds to introduce and market yet another sub-caliber round right in the middle of the ammo shortage. Great planning."

"I would prefer they produce ammunition, reloading components and firearms for existing cartridges in this economy, rather than introduce new cartridges."

Amen to both. Totally agree on a completely useless, unnecessary, and redundant round that NOBODY asked for. Until or unless Glock chambers for it, it will die.

I saw an ad for the "new .30 SUPER" self defense ammo. A .30 caliber 115 grain round nose FMJ is NOT my first choice for SD ammo. Where did the promo team go to eat because they're still 'out to lunch'. Then there's a reference to the common use of 9mm 115 grain FMJ for self defense. Really??
Only if I couldn't find or make something better.

Guns & Ammo video . . .

My take, "almost 9mm performance from a compact pistol allowing ten rounds onboard".

YMMV
