My sidearm f choice is a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt. Here are my two favorite holsters for carrying:

Both holsters are from Mike "Doc" Barranti. On the left is his Ranger Model which I use for Sunday and dress up occasions. On the right is the No.1 Shuck which is for everyday carry. Both suit me just fine.

The gun on the left was an alloy framed Blackhawk that I had fitted with the Super Blackhawk grip frame for awhile before going back to the Blackhawk grip. The one on the right was a Blackhawk that I converted to a Bisley after reading all the hype about the Bisleys.

As I've said before I'm fickle about what I carry. But for the last few weeks it has consistently been a .45 Colt Blackhawk.

I put all of the blame squarely on Bob. His images of good looking single actions and leather for same have caused me to emulate him.

I think my 1911's are feeling unloved. I'll have to make sure I take them to the range next time.

When I read the title, "I carry a Ruger", I was reminded... I use a Sneaky Pete for my LC9 while riding my motorcycle. A while back, a fellow rider asked me what the computer was that I was keeping with me so close. I told him it was a Ruger <<<<<<>>>>>>> blank look resulted.

I think of my lc9s as my everyday carry, but often lately I just throw my S&W 642, in a Desantis pocket holster, into my pocket when leaving the house. Only 5 rounds of 38 but it makes me feel secure. I wish we had open carry, just to have the option.

In the winter months I usually carry either a Ruger SP-101 357 magnum 2.25" or Speed Six 357 magnum 2.75". Both I carried with OWB holsters until recently I tried a IWB holster for the SP-101. Before I go any further, I realize IWB isn't for everyone.......... I purchased a MK-TEC IWB holster which rides low into my trousers so the weight (26oz) isn't so high the revolver want to hang/push forward which I've experienced with some IWB holsters. Retention fit is solid. So far I'm impressed with it.

Sometimes I carry my SR22 when doing stuff that takes me away from my usual vehicle(s) or if I'm going to be in town. Not wise to do my normal thing of leaving a rifle laying in the pickup seat but putting it in the rack behind the seat makes it nearly impossible to access rapidly.
I gotta say that after a single day of carrying in my normal environment, the SR22 DOES NOT LOOK LIKE ANY OF THE PICTURED GUNS. Both gun and holster get bumped, scratched, and totally filthy. Now and then I blow the accumulated dust and grit off at the air compressor but that's it. Occasionally, I eject the chambered round and check for a clear bore.
It's a different world out here. I carry a Ruger because they don't seem to mind this treatment and keep on working.

Besides my LCP that disappears into a pocket with a spare mag I just got an Max9 pro with a Crimson Trace. I can't believe how I can hit at distance with the dot. At 25yds 5 shots 2" in 6 seconds leaning on a post. 8" in 3 seconds offhand. The mocked up holsters are a pocket/IWB hybrid the other a shoulder/OWB hybrid for the Max 9 that will be done in carved leather. I'm torn between floral swirl or Oak leaves and acorns

I have switched between the 1911, GP100 and SP101. Can't get really comfortable with anyone of them just yet. My expanding center section is causing pants sag and weight distribution is a problem. I am resisting braces----
