Have had my pistol for about 4 months now. Been to the range 5-6 times as well as a couple of trips to a local gunsmith for rear sight adjustment. Sights are very good now and very pleased overall but thought the stock grips were just a bit two "plain Jane"!(Hope I can say that considering the current state of affairs in the country). Went on Ruger"s shopping sight and ordered a pair of the Cocobolo engraved grips. Liked the look, hoping they look as good once mounted on the gun. http://shopruger.com/SR1911-Cocobolo-Engraved-Checkered-Grips/productinfo/19854/

Nice grips!
I went "cheap" with a set of Magpul TSP grips on my 9mm lightweight.

I figured they "would do" until I found something I like better. Then found I like them more than the expensive grips on my other 1911s.

"Those are right fancy ...... what ya gonna do with the old grips??" Put them in the box and put them on a shelf!

Funny (to me). Just a couple days ago I found some US marked 1911 grips in a drawer. They're new, and I didn't even know I had them.
