I normally carry a SP101 during my day but ran across this 1998 GP100 that I couldn't pass up and that I thought could pack almost as easily as my SP101.

The question is, if I want tritium front sights is there a vendor that makes those? I have looked at XS and Meprolight but can't find a specific model. Could the 686 sights be jimmied to work?

Nice gun. One of my favorites.
Welcome to the Forum.

Try Gemini Customs for sights.

Thank you greatly. The brushed stainless, 3"barrel, and spur less hammer had an irresistible call.

Thanks for the clue in to Gemini.

Great looking guns.

Flattery will get you invited back often.

Both of them get a lot of use and carry. Nothing, to me, like a clockwork revolver with a short barrel.

I have had a hankering for a 3" GP for a while, but it didn't work out. I know where there is an SP-101, but it looks like it has been drug through the parking lot. It is pretty scuffed up, and high priced; I don't think that I will get the price below $500, so I will skip it.

That's always the answer, need to use it more often.

I find it hard not to like everything about it.

"Could the 686 sights be jimmied to work?"

The fiber optic sight I put on my 629 Mountain Gun is the same size as the 686. .250"

If I recall correctly my 2012 3" GP has a front sight that (I believe) is .200.
The Meprolight sight for the SP 101 is too small (.140?)
If I remember right a Big Dot XS for the SP is .188.

I thanks for the measurements. Both those could work, either a flat file to shave some or a spacer. Once it's pinned it would be solid.

Did you ever figure out how to make this work? I'm in the same situation.
I have bought the 686 sight but i have not filed it nor have I installed it.

Sorry I'm not of better help.
