The question of ejector assemblies for Ruger Super Blackhawks/Blackhawks/Vaquero is often posed by those wishing to upgrade the ejector assembly on their Rugers. Curiosity finally got the best of me and here's what I tried:

I took the ejector assembly off of this Uberti .45 Flat Top:

And tried to fit it to this original Vaquero:

I fund the housing about 1/8" too long, which makes sense, as the Ruger is 4 5/8" opposed to the Uberti's 4 3/4" barrel length.

The tendon fit well into the recess on the Ruger's frame, and it matched the barrel contour well, also. So it seems the assembly could be easily made to fit by your gunsmith, should you want to go to the trouble and expense. My first question was to whether the Uberti had a studded barrel or not. It does not.

When I replace an aluminum ERH on a Ruger I usually just use a Ruger steel ERH.

The Ruger ERH is straight cut, the Uberti is cam cut. Also the ejector rod is crescent head and opposed to the small button head Ruger uses.

Notice the crescent head is snugged up against the barrel. The cam-cut allows it to swing away as its pushed rearward to eject catridges.
