Seems they are hitting the market - crazy prices.

The exact same thing happened with the Springfield SA-35 when they came out, they too were going for absolutely stupid money on Gunbroker, but several LGS's had some in the case for MSRP or slightly under. It appears many folks have far more money than common sense to me anymore?!

It's probably about the status of having the first ones produced. Low serial numbers.

Not worth it to me.

I wonder if there ain't some folks banking on another Marlin collapse. Thinking these are the last Marlins and will shortly be worth their weight in gold. Most everyone with a slight amount of intelligence should realize Ruger is all in on Marlin and this is the beginning of a long successful run.

Too bad manufactures don't stockpile a reserve of guns before putting product into the market. There is enough evidence easily available with searches on the internet to determine the desirability of the rifle or pistol. Or maybe it is the distributors fault for only selling to dealers that go directly to auction sites. Is anyone here familiar with Ruger's or Springfield's manufacturing capability to produce a given number of guns per day ? It would be interesting to know how many firearms might actually be entering the pipeline. I am interested in both the Marlin 45-70 and Springfield SA-35 mentioned in the previous posts. Heck, I'm still waiting to find an American Ranch in 7.62x39 locally.

We'll see in a few months if the Ruger bean counters and engineers did a good job or if the "new" Marlins will go the way of the Dodo and the "new" Ruger Red Label.
