decided to test out some new Pistol stands this past week. they did an ok job but I think I could find a better use for the horn.

That should make some beautiful grips, right up there with buffalo (bison) horn.

i thought y'all might enjoy seeing that! I'll follow up with some pictures of the finished grips once i have the first batch of blanks back from being stabilized.

I believe Cary C. did a piece, a while back, on a set he made. Beautiful stuff. Having seen some of your other excellent work, I can hardly wait to see what you do with these.

By buffalo horn, I assume you mean water buffalo horn not bison horn. Bison horn is too small to make gun grips from. Have you ever seen an actual set of bison horn grips? I don't know of anyone that will even make you an actual set of American Bison horn grips.
