Looking for a Marlin 1894 Sporter 44mag

good luck in your hunt for the 44 sporter, i bought mine not knowing what it was 20 years ago. thinking it just was a regular 44 mag marlin, a little heavier that the 94 carbines but it shoots very well with 240 gr bullets at 1700 fps. i also have a 95 marlin made in 1972-73 in 45-70, they look like brothers.

Interesting rifle. It has the special crescent buttplate that the reintroduced 1895 came with in the 1970s. But it also has the heavier 444 profile barrel, so it handles like a 444 not like an 1894. Bump and Good luck with the search.

I had one of these. Stock had been swapped out with a flat plate and had a wildlife scene carved into it. With i had kept it. Was a nice rifle.
