Just curious on your thoughts on the value of an excellent condition #1 , 300 H&H. Approximately eight years old. Only caveat is the buttstock was trimmed to maintain factory length of pull for the installation of a Packmeyer Decelerator pad. The work was done by a competent gunsmith. Please no "dear god the rifle was ruined" comments. Thanks.

Advanced search on Gunbroker is your friend. Search those completed sales for your particular model.

I see a few Ruger No 1 300 H&H's listed on GB right now in the $1800 range. The Boddington Kudu variant is listed at $4k(!). That's list price, not a sale. Another one is listed on GunsInt'l for $2950 but includes a Leica scope. Not sure what value that represents.

Good luck!

jmol50 thanks for the reply. Not sure why but always have trouble with gunbroker. Prices I was able to find elsewhere kind of all over the place. Was hoping for some feedback from the #1 fans here.

Under completed auctions on GunBroker the same one has been listed for $1875 multiple times and never gets a bid.

The only other one sold for $1200

Thanks hittman. Sort of backs up my thinking that $1,100 - $1,200 is probably in the ballpark of a realistic price range.

This original rifle just sold for $1175.

With the pad added, i would guess that it is a $1000 rifle.

I grabbed a pair of these when they first came out. One might have a box of ammo through it. The other sites as clean as it was when it left the factory.
