Folks, a friend has what he thinks is a relatively rare 7.5" Bisley 357 Blackhawk, matte stainless, and would like some info on it. All he knows is 2007 production, and would like to know how long it was made, how many, and whether it was a special Lipsey's or dealer run or what? No info from Ruger direct so what say you? You can see by the photos it is sort of a (comparatively) medium-dark matte gray finish, as opposed to the brighter matte usually seen on stainless. He thinks it is fairly rare as he has seen very few others like it in his searches. Thanks for the look!

As jack black said, aftermarket finish.
There weren't any stainless .357 Bisley's with 7-1/2" barrel.
So then... your friend never saw any factory guns like it.
If you go on Ruger's serial number lookup page, you will find that the serial number was shipped as Ruger model 0331, a standard blue .357 Bisley.

A good truck/fishing gun now ..... no fear of scratching it!
