Feb 26, 2021 #2 J JCW64 Single-Sixer Joined Aug 4, 2005 Messages 467 Location Louisiana On the cylinder it is the proof mark. On the frame it usually indicates the firearm is a "second" ie, blemished or possible used as in returned to factory and then resold.
