Looking for a .45 Colt Redhawk cylinder to swap into my .454/45 Colt Alaskan.
My Alaskan cylinder has the .455 diameter cylinder throats which are a bit on big side for the .452 bullets that I load for all my other .45 revolvers.
I have read of folks that used to swap the .454 Alaskan cylinders into their Redhawks so it should fit right in.

My barrel slugs out at .4515 so OK there and the Redhawk smaller throats honed out to .4525 if they are smaller should fix the leading issues
I have with the Alaskan as the specs would be same as my other .45 Rugers I have now that shoot fine.

Of course the original cylinder would always be kept in the Ruger Alaskan case to go along with future resale.

I never plan on shooting .454 Casull but only up to hotter .45 Colt loads.

I may be misremembering, but I thought the Redhawk Backpacker (2.75" barrel) was available in .45 Colt at one point as a distributor exclusive. Might be easier to trade your Alaskan for one than to find a spare .45 cylinder assembly.
