Has anyone added a red dot to there Ruger with success.
Age is going on me 75 years old eyes are not what they use to be.
I wonder can the Red Dot be able to be set up to co-witness

To co-witness, you would need taller sights, I think.

You can find "suppressor" (tall) sights for some pistols, not sure about the SR

I'm sitting here looking at the slide of my P95. Considering the low sight plane and the typical thickness of a mounting plate, there's no way to "co-witness" w/o swapping to a taller sight profile. Now, if your pistol has the top of slide cut-out for a direct mount of the RDO, the sight height would not to be nearly as high.

"Does anybody make a red dot base that can be mounted to a SR9?"

Yes, ADE sells a rear sight dovetail plate for the center fire SR series. $25 on Amazon.
Galloway Precision also makes a similar(although I suspect a better quality) plate priced @ $26. I have one of the GP plates for a 22/45 and it's a good part.

The Galloway plate is good quality but I don't have any experience with how well the sight dovetail plates resist movement when faced with the violent movement of the slide on a centerfire pistol. My only experience has been with mini-dots on 22's.
