Hi all,

I won a SAA at an auction and was wondering if someone could give me a little history lesson. I'm not much of Colt guy- but I do love .44 specials and this one was in fine condition.

Serial number put's it at 1960, 5.5 inch, black rubber grips.

Any Colt buffs out there want to take me to school?

Thanks,

-Tyler

Wow! A SAA Colt and in 44S&W Special,
what a great Revolver!

One particular item when handling and
cocking it.

Always take the Hammer back to full cock.
Never go to half cock and try to bring it back
to the forward position! This is an amateur
move, and will engrave a ring around the
Cylinder. Always take to full cock and then
forward.

Safety. Another thing when loading it and
to end up on an empty Cylinder Hole.

Put one cartridge in. Skip a hole. Load the
next 4 cartridges. Cock Hammer all the way
back. Now carefully take the Hammer forward,
and it will be on an empty Cylinder Hole.

If you have a stubborn Cylinder Pin, that
won't pull forward to take the Cylinder out
let me know, I have a trick to help with that.

Congratulations on your new Revolver. Please
give a Range Report when you fire it.
