This weeks 'save' 1956 RSS..........

must be on a roll, got a call over the weekend to pick up another "found" bag of 'parts' from an estate last year, our friend Appleman. Bill E.............. found in the basement a early 1956 RSS "flatgate" should be a type 3,but NO cylinder, the gate was a 'Premiere' in the bag,no flatgate, grips, so back to the drawing board......fit a new loading gate( round) a later 1961 OM cylinder, which Hondo and I figured out there is a difference from the early "pre magnum" old model cylinders, they are longer, and had a pair of newer style XR-3 Ajax we refit to go on the OM XR-3.......

I'd have to put in the correct flat gate.

Keep finding them nice old Rugers & bringing them back to the splendor they are!

thanks 'TY', now does anyone have a 'spare' flat loading gate?? can swap the Premiere gate ( extended) ?? or we may to "make one" from an old roundgate....hhmmm 8) :roll: :wink:

Them things are harder to get spares than hen's teeth.
