I have a 6” half lug stainless GP100 with a DA pull of about 15 lb. thinking about a spring kit to lighten it up. Strictly as a range gun. No hunting, no CCW(as if).
Anyone had any luck?

Used this kit.

It definitely lightened up the DA pull and I like it. Now to just find some nice custom grips.

I have a pile of springs from those kits, I believe all mine are set up with 8lb return and 10lb hammer if you're interested in any of the others. Don't place any particular value on them, would take 1$ plus shipping. PM if interested. There are plenty to go around.

I used the 8lb trigger return and 12 lb hammer spring really improved thing and no light strikes.

Besides the lighter springs, don't be afraid to try the "Poor boy's trigger job".

Springs plus adding shims will really help the trigger.

That only works on the single-actions.

Sorry, but it worked on my GP and two SP's, also.

I have 5 GP100's and 2 SP101's.

This kit and the video helped the triggers.

I'm sorry, as well. I was referring to only the trigger spring alteration shown for the single-action revolvers, not all the rest of the sugestions.

Highly reccommend springs, shims and polish. Just got back from the range after working on my GP100. Put shims on the hammer, hammer dog, and trigger. Put in a 10 lb. hammer spring and 8 lb. trigger spring, all from triggershims.com. Lance was very quick (within the hour) responding to my email and even sent suggestions, and shipped next morning, great customer service there. I also polished the internals with a dremel and Flitz. The trigger spring housing was pretty rough and needed some sandpaper around a drill bit. I fed 38s and 357s through it with no light strikes.
