I just picked up a .22 Hornet, circa 1991 No. 1B, it looks like it came out of the box. Nice wood, a Leupold 6.5-20 x 40mm scope. The detachable sling swivels don't have the screw down "safety" collars. I doubt it was shot much. And how can you "shoot out" a Hornet?
I thought $1.2K was pretty reasonable.
The trigger breaks clean at 5 lbs. This rig weighs 9 lbs. 10 oz. (empty)*. I think it needs a 2-3 lb. trigger to really come into it's own.
I've never shot a Hornet, it's gotta be a blast for kids. Moderate noise, accurate, NO recoil. I'm leaning towards a Jard trigger but have no experience with No.1s, so suggestions would be appreciated.
*A joke about single shot rifles.
Y'all take care. Good times are coming.

The stock Ruger trigger is pretty adjustable. The rear set screw is for weight of pull - you can also change the spring. The forward one is the trigger stop. Pre 1980 there was a 3rd internal screw that set the amount of sear engagement/travel. The minimum design pull was 3 lbs. The Jard trigger looks like the pre 80 Ruger trigger with the 3rd screw.
