Hi guys,
I'm looking for suggestions on an easy and inexpensive route to a decent trigger on 10/22s. I know about aftermarket triggers and all, but here's why I ask: I have six grandkids, and I want to buy them each a 10/22. But I want them to have a decent trigger so they can learn to shoot them well. The expense of six guns is a considerable chunk of change for me, so I can't spend another $200 each for aftermarket trigger parts. I've seen some pretty awful triggers on 10/22s, though I haven't actually picked up a new one recently. What would you suggest?

For an easy and relatively cheap fix, the BX trigger has been quite an improvement over the original equipment triggers, for far less than a high end drop in trigger group.

They go on sale occasionally, for much less than the price on shopruger.com .

CDNN has been selling stainless 10/22T's for all of 2020. Price has risen 50$ but they are now packaged with a rimfire scope. The 10/22T comes with the improved BX trigger group from the factory. Mine has been quite accurate, though obviously not for everyone as they are quite a bit heavier than the sporter models.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll check out the BX triggers. I may buy one for my 10/22 and see how I like it.

You won't be disappointed, the Ruger extended mag release is really nice too...

The BX is good but I still prefer.... BASIC,
and if you do several they will cut the price a bit, it used to be $35 now $45.

Go over to rimfirecentral.com look around a bit you notice most really like the Brimstone.

Food for thought: you can quite possibly sell the stock trigger group to recoup part of the BX cost. That does mean the BX more or less becomes part of the rifle... (Unless you buy back your old trigger group!)

I've also heard good things about Brimstone, as per G2's suggestion.

I had Brimstone do a Tier 2 trigger rebuild for my 10/22. I believe it was $70 or so. The trigger now breaks @ 1.75 pounds and is great for target shooting.
