Hi,

My Mom had some kind of a tool in the kitchen to open condensed milk cans: she'd poke a hole for milk to come out, then another on the other side of the can to let air in. I don't remember it well enough to know if it looked like this tool.

you can see the far part is hinged. the other solid part looks like a wrench. odd.

How about a better pic of the head, maybe with a ruler or coin for size comparison? There are about a million different things that have that sort of handle, and no guarantee that the handle is even original to the tool.

Is the long part with the hook rigid? It looks like the wrench part rocks on a pivot?

or maybe I should be asking, what did it hold? I know most handles were cast iron coils, but maybe it picked up an iron stove lid? or a camping pot?
maybe the pic needs a different perspective? flip it 180.

I just did a search for old (antique) can openers, lid lifters, and bottle openers. There were a gazillion of each and none like what we are looking at here.

Have you tried to open a beer bottle with it? It looks like it would work.
