Re: Scope Recommendations for RSRH in 454 Casull

I have Leupold scopes and UltraDots on such calibers. No problems with either. Proper mounting also helps.

Re: Another storm

Well, we got 11" at my house from this storm. All around my area,, it was between 8" (south & east,) to as much as 16" (north & west) in general. It took a break about 1 pm,, and I got on my tractor & scraped the road from the highway to my driveway (about .3 miles,) and o...

Re: True Bear Story

" We tried to trap black bears using fried bacon and fried trout=no luck!" I had a group of Boy Scouts at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico about 15 years ago. We'd caught a good mess of native trout out of one of the creeks. We cooked & enjoyed them. I made sure we cleaned them away ...

Talk to Ruger. They have different rear sight options. It may not be what you seek, but you can get an answer.

Re: 22/45 magazine

Welcome to the Forum! As noted,, a good cleaning often helps. The mags aren't hard to disassemble & re-assemble. Try that first. Next,, yes,, you can stretch the springs a little,, and that may work a bit. But be careful & don't overdo it. But I think a good cleaning may solve the issue. Not...

Re: coyote trapping

Our local yotes stink so much,, that the market for the hides is almost nada. Especially in my area where the fur isn't thick enough for much. (Zone 3 fur trading,) As for skulls,, I may have to ask my local taxidermist. I recently disposed of a pair of yotes,, w/o bothering to even consider skinnin...

Re: How many of you have one of these?

Mine likes the "Ferminator" bullet as well. :D :D And a 327 whacks them Idaho ground squirrels with authority. I burned a fair amount of ammo out there on them a few years back. But,, I was wringing out my (then) new Single-Seven in 327. That & my Hawkeye,,, but we won't discuss the ba...

Re: 1971 Blackhawk .45..

No problem helping you out. We do have some mighty good folks around here that try hard to make sure things are "right" for all of us. And especially for the new folks,, so "Welcome!" OM 45's were produced for only 3 years,, AND the production numbers are below the .44 Mag Flatto...

Re: LCR9mm and +P ammo compatibility?

If the manual doesn't say it's acceptable,, then I'd say it's NOT acceptable to use a +p 9mm ammo in that gun. Ruger's lawyers are quite careful about making sure they cover things quite well.

Re: 1971 Blackhawk .45..

To answer the OP's question. It wasn't until 1973 that the 2 pin, New Model marked frame guns came out. I too think it MAY be possible the OP mis-read the prefix part of the serial number. There has never been a NM 2 pin gun marked gun with a 45 prefix.

Re: True Bear Story

It was a long interview,, but enlightening. As a person who deals with wildlife daily,, (just not bears,) I do get a fair amount of experience in dealing with other critters. I ALWAYS tell folks; "No 2 animals are alike,, even if the same species. So you can plan & prepare as best as you se...

Re: coyote trapping

So basically, a flat set,,using the hay as a visual, and smell attractant. The hay can hold scent,, (pee etc,) while also having a natural critter smell,, such as mice etc. Trap placement,, towards the center,, or towards the middle,, or the perimeter of the hay circle? It appears the middle area wi...
