Re: New Ruger/Marlin lever action 45/70

Well the stock is hideous. The lever is useless as it doesn't allow proper operation of the lever. Sort of like wearing XXL gloves if your hands fit in small ones, sloppy. I actually like the rail and put an XS rail on my 1895 GS to allow easy optics mounting. Frankly, I'd be embarrassed to show up...

What they need is one with a 10" bbl and a old western style detachable pistol brace.

Re: New Ruger/Marlin lever action 45/70

I'm just hoping they decide to bring back the 1894 chambered in the cartridges that Remington stupidly dropped, such as 38/357 and .41 Mag. Ruger's CEO already said there will be a 336 in 30-30 and 35 Rem and a 94 in 357&44 mag. The new Ruger/Marlin website lists the 336 in those calibers but n...

Re: New Wrangler

Do you think Ruger will ever make a Buntline Special i.e. long barrel version of the Wrangler? The Heritage Rough Rider comes in a 16" bbl version (both a pistol and rifle) which is kinda cool other than being a Heritage. Could make a 16" revolver into a rifle.

Re: WRANGLER BIRDSHEAD

I wasn't particularly interested in the regular Wrangler since I already have a Single Six but the birdshead grip Wrangle is very interesting to me. AS soon as the SW near me gets them at a decent price in I'm there.

Re: Security Six Stainless MORE PICS

My first duty gun was a Security Six 4" Stainless which I bought in 1977. Eventually sold it but always wanted another one. I eventually traded a S&W 645 I picked up in another trade for a 2 /34" one last spring. I traded it to a retired deputy who had polished it and did a trigger job...

Just heard about the birdshead grip Wrangler. Wasn't much interested in the original Wrangler but something (aesthetics?) about these new ones appeals to me.

Re: Now That Ruger Owns Marlin ,Lever Gun???

I will be the first to acknowledge Remington put out some real junk at first. Mainly due to the arrogance of the people in charge. But a couple of years before they went belly up they finally got the bugs worked out. By that time their reputation was in the toilet. My widowed sister-in-law needed a...

Re: Now That Ruger Owns Marlin ,Lever Gun???

Just looked at the Marlin website put up by Ruger. It shows the 1895 as being shipped and the 336 in both 30-30 and 35 Rem as not being currently in production. Also an 1894 but no indication of caliber. http://i.imgur.com/xpVkxpE.png Under rimfires they show a bolt gun (XT) the Model 60 and 795 as ...

Re: Now That Ruger Owns Marlin ,Lever Gun???

just seeing this thread now so forgive me if it's dated. As was posted the first Marlin will be an 1895 in 45-70, followed by a 336 in 30-30. There is an interview with Ruger's CEO floating around confirming the above. Though he didn't say it he alluded to the return of the Model 60 22 and some leve...

Can’t wait!

Wishful thinking I guess. But hopefully Ruger is listening. A lot of 45acp owners out here. And suppressed! These would be killer

Re: Ruger AR 556 MPR with the 18 inch Barrel

I'm not sure about the 18" AR556, but my 16" version is quite nice. I carried a colt AR in Iraq (14" barrel). Although it was a great rifle and never jammed, the Ruger seems every bit as good. The MPR is kind of an enhanced version of the 16" version. Difference are 18" bbl...

Re: LC9s?

Rural King has some LC9s listed. The only one in stock at this time is this one. https://www.rkguns.com/ruger-lc9s-with-hi-viz-sights-9mm-7rd-3-12-pistol-3270.html When my brother got his carry permit last summer I found him a used LC9s on a local gun forum pretty cheap. The one I found for him had ...
