    Ruger Ivory Grip Value

Gents: Sold the Heiser holster for $450. Not sure who that makes right on the estimating discussion. Now it's time to sell the ivories. Is that still legal? Previous post cited article but I didn't find effective date of ban. Thanks for all the help. Anybody want to buy these ivories? PM me.

Hawk- No fussing. My wife hollers at me too. You said "work on selling your ivory". Consider it done. Just posted in Classified. Now let's see who the real players are. Thanks for your help.

Old Model Single-Six Elephant Ivory Grips - CT

Selling from CT. I'm selling elephant ivories off my 1955 Old Model Single-Six Ruger (XR3 frame). I'm told these are NOT Factory. Color texture and depth is great on these grips. I've included numerous pics, some with flash some without. One grip shows a small imperfection at the bottom from a...

    Ruger Ivory Grip Value

Hawk- OK. I always hear better when I'm shouted at! It seems reasonable to assume that Ruger would not have put out ivories without their trademark on them. I do suppose that the same "vendor" that supplied the medallioned ivories to Ruger could also have been selling the same ones without the...

    Ruger Ivory Grip Value

OK Smart Guys I need more help. A guy approached me and said my ivories could be Factory because in the first couple years Ruger was not putting medallions on all of the ivories they installed. Yet, many of you have said "no medallions, not Factory". Could this other guy be right? Again thanks.

    Ruger Ivory Grip Value

Gentlemen- Thank you for all the comments and advice. At this five minutes in time my thought is to break the package and sell off the holster, then the ivories and then the pistol with period replacement rubber grips. Regarding the holster, I have not put it on the market so there is no asking...

    Ruger Ivory Grip Value

Thanks you all for the comments. Someone had told me previously that during the early years of the Old Model (maybe 1953-1956) some of the factory ivory did not have the medallions. I guess that was bad info? I've already had several interested parties contact me for all or parts of the...

    Ruger Ivory Grip Value

Here's some photos of my Ruger. Based on Serial #28169 I believe it is 1955, 3- Screw, Old Model, 5 1/2" barrel, "Flatgate" w/Factory elephant ivory grips, frame marked "XR3" and ALCOA G, Heiser holster. In good shape, except for some scratches on back (see photo). I'm looking to sell the whole...

    Ruger Ivory Grip Value

Dan- Thanks for quick response. Just to clarify: The $400-$500 value is for the elephant ivory grips alone (and yes they are in good shape, I believe Factory based on match markings on the back, quite beautiful)? The gun is in a HH Heiser holster. Based on the Heiser maker's mark, I believe the...

    Ruger Ivory Grip Value

Hi All. Great forum. I'm a newbie but hope to visit often. I have a Ruger Single-Six (#28169) with elephant ivory grips. I'm thinking of selling the grips separately, then selling the gun with replacement grips. I've been told the grips are more valuable separate from the gun? Is that true? Not...
