For anyone interested, I heard back from Ruger. They claim the rifle is OK.. Checked with a go/no-go guage and passed. They said they fired a bunch of Winchester ammo in it with no probs.. I called Hornaday and they had me ship all the ammo [5 boxes] in the lot I shot to them. I sure hope...

    FYI - .22 Ammo

I was in Gallensons in Salt Lake today. They had lots of Federal Champion 22 ammo and 22 mag. A steal at only $69/brick. I passed. Cabelas Had a few boxes of CCI, $19/box. Yes I passed.. Everywhere has 17 HMR coming out their ears..

Ruger said send it in.. They are picking up the tab both ways.. We'll see what it is like when I get it back.. We'll see how this works out when I get it back. Still, it sucks that I have to send a brand new rifle in to the manufacturer for repair..

OK I am reluctant to admit I finally opened the bolt and removed the case. I used 9X19's suggestion a second time with a steel rod I have. Took several hits but it finally opened. I have done all the stuck case removal tricks already.. I didn't beat hard and used a dead blow hammer. Just gently tapped on it.. I have had stuck cases before with hot handloads so I do know the drill..

I removed the action from the stock and I can see the safety rotating. But I according to the manual the three position safety only allows you to remove or open the bolt if it is not on safe.. There is some kind of internal block that I cannot access.. I have had cases get stuck before on...

Tried to call Ruger today and yes they are closed for some holiday. I did find the online request and and sent one in. As for the safety being the issue, I found one post via google that stated someone had this same problem and the safety was the culprit. Hawkeye what do you mean by...

Brand new rifle. I do not know how old it is or how long it sat in the shop.. Disappointed? Yup.. First Ruger. I am also disappointed that Ruger has no email addy for customer service, so I'll have to call Monday, then probly go through the hassle of shipping etc.. We'll see how the...

New guy here, I joined cause I just bought my first Ruger. Long story short. I have wanted a 22 Hornet for years. Finally last week I found a new one at the LGS for $600. A Ruger 77/22. The Ruger felt so nice, etc, and the price seemed right. Today less than 15 rounds down the tube and...
