The chambers in my 45 ACP Vaquero have very abrupt forcing cones which require my bullets to be seated deep or the cartridges will not headspace on the case mouth. And, then bullets have a very long jump to the barrel. It looks like the cylinder is the same as what the factory uses for the 45...
The 1911 won't die. I've put over 100,000 rounds through mine. I anticipate that it will last the rest of my life and accumulate many more thousands. I've never heard about someone putting that many through a Glock.
Thanks. I learned something. It's now easy to understand why I should keep my loads for the 44 Special down and not venture into +P, and to use longer, heavier bullets. Before reading this article, people would simply tell me "buy a 44 Mag" but they never said why. Maybe they didn't know about...

There was always the chance that someone with a Ruger 308 Laminate Compact rifle had a few loads that worked well. That's what I was hoping for.
There were a few guys who were nice and simply gave information without a judgemental attitude.
But there were a couple retarded internet...
drooling ... with choice of 3" or 4" barrel and an optional 45 ACP cylinder.
I enjoy my GP100 44 Spl. It's my CCW. But a 4" 45 Colt GP100 would replace it.
