Thanks for the info. That's what I figured and did. Seems to be ok cycling snap caps. Odd that the factory one is only ground on one end. Must have been made on a Monday. LOL.
I just p/u a new lcp gen2(not the lcp2) from academy for 203 otd. As I usually do I cleaned it all out including the extractor. I did not ck the spring when I took it out. I noticed one end of the extractor spring is ground flat. I presume that end goes against the plunger? That's the way I...
Thanks for the tips but what about timing and lock up? I was trained to cock the hammer and hold it back while pulling the trigger. Keep the trigger pulled and slowly lower the hammer and see if the cylinders are locked into place. Also do the same while shinning a light in the back of the cyl...
Going to look at a used hammerless revolver but never did a function test on one. Only familiar with the steps on a hammer revolver. Can someone educate me? Thanks.
The case rim is supposed to slip under the extractor claw. When the round slips under the extractor claw it pushes the extractor outhward flush with the slide. After it is ejected and there is no case under the claw the extractor should pivot inward to get a good grip on the next round. That's...
Need someone to ck their extractor function. Mine is binding. If yours can return to the inward position, mine gets stuck in the outward position, look on the underside of the slide. There is a small weep hole behind the extractor channel. Does your extractor spring go all the way into the hole...
I just don't get it. How can Ruger or any manufacturer for that matter have the same problem over and over and not rectify it? This thread is from 2015 and you mean to tell me they still haven't got the extractor function fixed? If they test fire them, as they say they do, can't the tech just...
I know this is an old thread but problems still exist. What's that old saying "Insanity is doing the the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome". Well I have a new EC9S and the extractor does not flex. I can push it outward and it does not pop back inward. I have a new...
It's nice that we want to aim these little pistols but in a shtf situation it ain't gonna happen. These pistols are designed for bad breath distances. God help you if your going to stand there and aim. It won't be like shooting at a static target at your local range. First instinct is to start...
Man this ammo situation is depressing. Availability, price gouging etc is killing me. When your a working class retired guy it hurts on a fixed income. I have some 9mm ammo in reserve but I don't want to burn thru all of it. Even .22 is pricey. At a gun show the formerly $20 brick of 500 is now...
The key device is the fp block. The trigger bar is the only thing that can raise the block out of the way of the fp. Even if the striker was in full cock and some how slipped off the sear it would be stopped by the block. Pulling the trigger is the only thing that can lift it out of the way.
That's how I started using the dry lube.On my revolvers. Then I figured I would try a regimen on my semi's.In the nooks and crannies you speak of. I do use a little grease on slide and rails. The areas that take more of a load.I will check further on the sights you recommended.Thanks.
