ok , wow.. it seems im behind the times... that rod setup is totally different than the full size?? interesting- so since the rod is captive on the full size, ill just make my machinist copy the outside diameter of the rod ( clipping off the flare of the stock rod at the front of the weapon )...

no kidding?!!! ill call Ruger tomorrow! ill of course mod myself a few things...i have machinist guy whom im challenging to make a SS guide rod.

ok so i didnt wait long enought to purchase my pretty SR9. so i got the O shaped mag release.. is it a straight swap to the D release? can i call Ruger and buy the whole bottom half? thanks mod experts!

reneker- congrats on the baby sr9, i debated long and hard on the full/midget version myself. i ended up taking the big guy for full-siziness being as it was my very first handgun. ( i was looking for a home defense rather than carry)

ha- conn...exactly on with the caveman trigger on the sigma. id rather they had not used the stamped steel festival like it was an ak-47, but yah, the sigma is not too bad. that being said, the sr9 is so far away from the sigma in trigger, action, and overall tightness its not even funny

ive got some machinist thats going to make my SS rod,,,, but im thinking of going aftermarket: whats the best (IYOpinion) value / overall aftermaket SS? thanks guys

ive heard that people dont like it, gritty and such. i dont see the issue as its a DAO weapon and is comparable to any other ive fired. ive put limited rounds through it (~300) and its smoothed out just from that. so id figure any guy who is a range rat can shove a grand down the pipe and...

ha! agreed. but a firearm is a firearm.. id compare a slingshot if i was shooting it. but yes, the SR-9 is a golden beauty. my first gun, and i wouldnt choose another if i had the do-over.

ok guys- ive been out shooting a SW sigma 40 (gross for the price) a couple of Hi-Point semis 9 and 40 ( surprisingly not bad for $125 a piece) a KT pf-9 (wants to jump out of your hand ), KT pf-11 (just as jumpy ) and a groovy Beretta 9 (what can you say-shes nice)...and ill tell you, the SR-9...
